Contact Lens Care

Contact Lens Care

How to care for your contact lenses:

Remember that contact lenses are medically prescribed devices that can put your eyes at great risk when not used properly! Always follow your eye doctor’s instructions on wearing and caring for your contact lenses.

[learn_more caption=”Here are some general rules to follow in caring for your eyes and lenses:”] Do not wear your contact lenses overnight unless they have been prescribed for that purpose. Serious infections can develop.

  • Do not continue to wear your contacts if your eyes become red, irritated or painful. Anyone who wears contact lenses should ALWAYS keep a pair of glasses at their house to wear in case of emergencies. Continuing to wear your contact while your eyes are infected can lead to serious visual conditions.
  • Do not wear your contacts longer than prescribed by your doctor. While the contact may feel comfortable in your eyes, they may not be designed to protect your eyes from infections for extended periods of time.
  • Make sure to always keep your appointments for follow-up care with your eye doctor. You prescription can change without you knowing it, and it is important that your eye doctor is able to fit you with the correct lenses each year.[/learn_more]
