Did you know that about 2,000 workers in the United States receive job-related eye injuries that require medical treatment each day?  These injuries can be the result of things like chemicals, burns, UV radiation exposure, or flying wood and metal chips.  It is estimated that the majority of these injuries could be lessened in severity or even prevented if adequate eye protection had been worn.

What should you do if you have sustained a job-related eye injury?
Call your eye doctor immediately and have the injury evaluated through a comprehensive eye health examination.

Your eye doctor can work with you and your employer to make sure that your eyes are properly protected.  Be sure you know how to properly use your eye protection.  If you have any questions about your eye protection in the workplace, be sure you talk with your eye doctor.
